Emergency Vehicle Technician

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED and valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working in an industrial environment that may require heavy physical duties and frequent standing, bending, twisting, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Willingness to work overtime when required
  • Constructive team player with a positive attitude
  • Detail-oriented and focused on quality workmanship

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILL AND ABILITY:

  • Experience working with automotive electrical systems, mechanical systems, and/or body work.
  • Completion of a trade school, vocational high school, or equivalent with courses in general shop and automotive repair
  • ASE Automotive Technician or EVT Emergency Vehicle Technician certified

DUTIES:

  • Installing all equipment necessary to modify brand-new vehicles into police and emergency vehicles.
  • Routing and installing wire harnesses, controllers, partitions, auxiliary batteries, light bars, push bumpers, power supplies, component trays, and consoles.
  • Disassembling and reassembling factory vehicles
  • Expected to read drawings, including electrical schematics with limited help.
  • Find process efficiencies while respecting work quality
  • Maintain accurate records
